Reviews

“Well written book, I really enjoyed this and as I was getting through the story I was racing along trying to find out more. Gripping and had me hooked from the beginning.”

Rating: 5 out of 5.

“The opening chapter of this book felt like a gritty film noir to me, with a journalist going off to investigate a redundant mental institution in the way that a hard-nosed detective embarks on a mission. The next bit reminds me of ‘One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest’ and ‘The Shining,’ as things from the past become very real. There is an air of menace, beginning with humiliating and degrading ‘treatments,’ with the author clearly knowledgable about this subject. All hell breaks loose in the final portion of the book which may not be for the squeamish but anyone who has read a Stephen King novel should be able to handle the full-blooded horror that erupts. Nuns and grandmothers should be aware that the language is colourful throughout but I found the book to be a page-turner, well written and scarily vivid.”

“The first two chapters were a little slow, but now I’ve read it I understand it was a way of explaining/showing what unfolds in the rest of the book. I really hope there will be a second one to explain all the questions I have!”
